WS6 Oxygen Sensors on Vehicle

The Vehicle I used for this test is a Honda Civic 1.5

The oxygen sensor is located just on the headers, right on the front of the engine. this is also a single wire Zirconia Switching oxygen sensor which the wire is white.

A oxygen sensor works out whether the mixture is too rich or too lean, if you look at a graph you can see this, when the voltage increases this shows the mixture going rich and as you see the voltage drop it is going lean.

First I had to back probe the oxygen sensor connector to get a good connection, I stated the engine and allowed it to warm up and go into closed loop, this is the graph reading i got, I would guess the average reading would be around the 0.25v mark

Next I did a sudden deceleration, You can see the voltage drop around 0.1v

The last pattern I needed to capture was the response time from sudden acceleration, as you can see the sensor reacted very quickly to the sudden acceleration.

This is a perfectly good oxygen sensor as you can see it reacts quickly to sudden changes in driving style and quickly goes into closed loop.
